Yellow LC-75-530SB-2

Use this pad to apply compounds or polishes to remove severe oxidation, swirls, and scratches. It is the most aggressive and should only be used on oxidized and heavily swirled finishes. Always follow this pad with a white or gray pad and a fine polish to refine the paint until it is smooth.

Orange LC-75-230SB-2

Firm, high density foam for scratch and defect removal. Use this pad with polishes and swirl removers. It’s an all around pad that will work on most light to moderate imperfections.

Pink LC-75-030SB-2

This foam is of medium density with the ability to level very fine scratches and very light oxidation. Use light swirl removers with this pad.

White LC-75-630SB-2

Less dense foam formula for the application of cleaner waxes, one step polishes, or “all in one” type products. This pad has very light cutting power, so it’s perfect for pre-wax cleaners.

Black LC-75-730SB-2

Composition is firm enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to remove buffer swirls. It has no cut and will apply thin, even coats of waxes, sealants, and glazes.

Blue LC-75-930SB-2

Flat pad has soft composition for applying glaze, finishing polish, sealants, and liquid waxes. Flat pad provides full contact with paint surface to minimize the pressure applied by the user.

Red LC-75-130SB-2

This soft, imported foam is ideal for applying the final coat of wax or sealant. The foam works especially well when applying liquid waxes or sealants because it is firm enough to keep the majority of the product on the paint, rather than soaking it up. The red foam has no cut or cleaning ability.

^^ This. I use it frequently. Works great. If you’re an Optimum fan their product works the same. I have both and notice little to no difference.

The best tip is to use a virgin foam pad when applying it. Keep that pad in a clean container after so that reuse is a snap too. I’ve tried to wash and reuse such pads in the past but with no success. Virgin seems to be the way to go in order for it to flash clear or you’ll be left going over it to remove streaks.

If you’re looking for a product to prep the paint and get it ready for a new coat of wax or sealant, you have a couple of options: non-abrasive polish or spray on wax remover. Leave the dish soap for the dishes and use one of the dozens of products available that will safely remove old waxes and sealants.

What’s the difference between non-abrasive polishes and spray on wax removers? A non-abrasive polish will remove previously applied waxes and sealants while also deep cleaning your paint, ridding it of below surface contaminants. A non-abrasive polish is designed to be applied by hand or machine. It is the preferred method for removing old waxes and sealants. A spray on wax remover will chemically strip the paint of all previously applied waxes and sealants. These are generally spray on, wipe off products. They will not remove below surface contaminants. If you’re the type of person that finds yourself applying a different wax every chance you get, a spray on wax remover is for you.
