very firm and secure - Used this to install a keystone plate for my surround sound speakers. Installation was a snap, hold very firmly against drywall. did not distort or crack after tightning it down. Legs are long enough that bos will not loosten after repeated removing and installing of componet cables. I bought 4 more to do another project with keystones.
